Name: Skywalker OG Kush

Type: Mostly Indica

Lineage:  A variation of the original cut of Skywalker OG.

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th 

Looks: Dense nugs completely covered in golden hued trichomes. Mostly light green buds with a few light brown hairs. Soft, dank and sticky.

Smell: Pine, citrus and fuel. Recognizable pine-fuel OG stank.

Taste: A piney, musty flavor with a touch of citrus. A cooling sensation was noticeable on my tongue while vaporizing. Rich and smooth vapor with heavy lung expansion.

Buzz: Strong, racy stone. Introspective and heavy with a strong body buzz. Couch lock in high doses. Had me feeling very stoned with my heart beating fast. Numbing sensations were noticeable around my face and body. Best for the evening.

Summary:  A great looking cut of OG Kush with an excellent taste and a buzz that was strong and racy. I prefer more mellow, euphoric buzzes, so this wasn’t for me. Fans of Sour Diesel and Chem Dawg would likely enjoy this strain.

Type: Mostly Sativa 

Lineage: Originally from East Africa, made popular in Jamaica

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th 

Looks: Small, dense, compact nugs. Dark green buds completely crawling with pale brown hairs and golden hued trichomes. Dank and sticky.

Smell: A tangy, sweet and sour scent that stings the nostrils. Reminiscent of the scent of Sour Patch Kids and the strain Trainwreck with a subtle hint of cheese and spiciness. 

Taste: A refreshing, sweet and sour flavor similar to the smell. Smooth vapor with heavy lung expansion.

Buzz: Heady, peaceful high. Spacey, creative and mildly euphoric with a relaxed energy and a light body buzz. Numbing sensations were noticeable around my eyebrows and down my back. Best for the afternoon, outdoor activities or wake and bake.

Summary: A mellow Sativa that tasted and smelled like Sour Patch Kids. The buzz was memorable; peaceful and relaxing without being sedating. 

Ultraviolet Strain Review

Name: Ultraviolet

Type: Mostly Sativa (about 75% Sativa, 25% Indica)

Lineage: Shot Adrenaline crossed with Lavender.

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th 

Looks: Small, oddly shaped nugs. Dark green and purple buds with shades of pink noticeable in certain nugs. Moderate trichome coverage. Brittle to the touch. This batch wasn’t overly fresh.

Smell: Sweet, fruity, musty and spicy. 

Taste: A sweet and spicy flavor. Smooth vapor with heavy lung expansion.

Buzz: Euphoric, spacey, heady high. Cerebral, racy and creative with a light body buzz. Best for the afternoon and for outdoor activities.

Summary: A unique looking strain with a spacey and racy high. Too heady and racy for my taste.

Private Reserve Platinum Bubba Kush Strain Review (The Hot Spot)

Type: Mostly Indica 

Lineage: Unknown. A variation of Bubba Kush.

Price: $16/gram, $44/8th, $72/ quarter, $130 half ounce

Looks: Big, chunky, leafy, finger shaped nugs. Light and dark green buds covered in brown with heavy trichome coverage. Brittle to the touch, but dank and sticky when bro.

Smell: Musty, woodsy and minty with a sweet spiciness.

Taste: A musty, woodsy flavor similar to the smell. Hearty, smooth vapor with heavy lung expansion.

Buzz: Heavy, calming buzz. Clear headed, mildly euphoric and sedating. Numbing sensations were noticeable at the back of my head and down my spine. Best for the evening.

Summary: A solid batch of Platinum Bubba. It was well priced and the looks, smell and taste were all impressive. The buzz was enjoyable, but more sedating and less euphoric than my favorite batches of the strain.

Blue Champagne Strain Review (GPC)

Type: Mostly Sativa (about 75% Sativa, 25% Indica)

Lineage: Blue Dream crossed with Blue Champagne

Price: $12.50/gram

Looks: Big, chunky, pine-cone shaped nugs. Mostly light green buds with many bright orange hairs and heavy trichome coverage. Dank and sticky. Could have used a slightly better trim.

Smell: Sweet, fruity, creamy and peppery. Smells very similar to Blue Dream.

Taste: A sweet and fruity, grassy flavor. Smooth vapor with heavy lung expansion.

Buzz: Relaxing, euphoric buzz. Clear headed, creative and functional with a light body buzz. Slightly racy. Best for the afternoon.

Summary: A good batch of one of my favorite Sativa strains. The nugs were huge, but could have been trimmed better. The smell and taste were both on point and the buzz was enjoyable, but not as smooth as a previous batch I’ve sampled.

PK Ripper Strain Review

Name: PK Ripper

Type: Mostly Indica

Lineage: Unknown. Most likely a variation of Pure Kush, sister to OG Kush.

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th 

Looks: Small, dense nugs blinged out with trichomes. Mostly light green buds with a few orange hairs. Dank and sticky.

Smell: Pine, fuel and citrus. Smelled very similar to OG Kush.

Taste: A musty, pine-fuel flavor similar to the smell. Rich and smooth vapor with moderate lung expansion.

Buzz: Heavy, spacey stone. Introspective and moderately sedating with a strong body buzz. Had me locked to the couch with my thoughts slowed. Best for the evening. 

Summary: A great looking and tasting strain with a strong, debiliatating stone. I prefer a more euphoric, clearheaded and functional buzz.

Legendary Pure Kush Strain Review

Type: Mostly Indica 

Lineage: A unique phenotype of Pure Kush, sister to OG Kush.

Price: $20/gram, $55/8th, $110/ quarter, $210 half ounce

Looks: Dense, compact, diamond encrusted nugs. Dark and light green buds with many burnt orange hairs and heavy trichome coverage. Dank and sticky.

Smell: Pine, sweet citrus, menthol and a touch of lime.

Taste: A piney flavor with a hint of menthol and lime. Rich vapor with moderate lung expansion.

Buzz: A crisp, clean, euphoric high. Clear headed, uplifiting and relaxing. The body buzz was strong, but functional. Best for the afternoon and early evening. 

Summary: One of my all time favorite strains. The taste is complex and unique. The high is incredible; the perfect combination of relaxation and euphoria. Legendary Pure Kush is about as good as it gets.

Epic Malibu Pure Kush Strain Review

Lineage: A sister phenotype of 91 OG Kush.

Price: $20/gram, $55/8th, $110/ quarter, $210 half ounce

Looks: Dense, tightly trimmed, chunky nugs completely covered in trichomes. Light and dark green buds with a few pale orange hairs. Dank and very sticky.

Smell: Pine, sweet citrus, menthol and a touch of fuel. 

Taste: A piney, sweet citrusy flavor similar to the the smell. A sweet floral taste was noticeable during and after vaporizing. Rich vapor with heavy lung expansion.

Buzz: Heavy euphoric high. The buzz was strong with numbing effects felt from head to toe. Clear headed, uplifting and highly relaxing. Stimulated my apetite. Best for the evening.

Summary: A fantastic batch of one of my favorite varieties of Pure Kush. The buds were extremely sticky. I love the smell and taste. The buzz, though, is what truly stands out. It’s quite heavy, but still very euphoric.

Platinum Bubba Kush Strain Review (Advanced NMC)

Type: Mostly Indica

Lineage: Unknown. A variation of Bubba Kush.

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th 

Looks: Big, chunky, leafy, dumpling sized nugs. Light and dark green buds with some purple peeking through closer to the stems and a few auburn colored hairs. Heavy trichome coverage. Brittle to the touch, but dank and sticky when broken up.

Smell: Musty, earthy, minty, sweet and spicy. Recognizable Bubba Kush scent.

Taste: A musty, minty flavor similar to the smell. Rich and thick vapor with moderate lung expansion. The flavor lingered in my mouth long after vaporizing. 

Buzz: Happy, heavy buzz. Clear headed, euphoric, sedating and highly relaxing. My body was tingling with noticeable numbing sensations. Couch lock in high doses. Best for the evening and for the sleep.

Summary: Finally, a proper batch of Platinum Bubba Kush. I’ve sampled so many disappointing batches in the past few months and it feels good to find the real deal. The looks, taste and smell were all fantastic. The buzz was everything I love about good variations of Bubba; happy, heavy and extremely enjoyable.
