This Season’s Blonde from Aspen Brewing Company

This Season’s Blonde from Aspen Brewing Company. A crisp, light ale with just enough hop to keep it interesting. From the brewery: “Similar to a Hefeweizen-style Ale, this This Season’s Blonde beauty is a Wheat Ale, although it pours clear with exceptional carbonation and a bright head.

IPA Independence Pass Ale from Aspen Brewing Company

A classically styled, generously hopped IPA balanced nicely with malt flavors.

Looks: Chunky, leafy nugs. Light and dark green buds with some dark purple hues and many bright orange hairs. Heavy trichome coverage. Dank and very sticky.

Smell: Musty, minty, woodsy, sweet and spicy. Fresh, pungent Bubba scent.

Taste: A sweet musty flavor similar to the smell. Hearty vapor with moderate lung expansion.

Buzz: Heavy, relaxing buzz. Clear headed, euphoric and sedating with a strong body buzz.  Numbing sensations were noticeable at the back of my head and down my spine. Best for the evening and for sleep.

Summary: A fresh and tasty batch of Platinum Bubba. The buds looked great and the buzz was a little heavier than other batches I’ve sampled.

Name: Orange Jack (Jack Herer X Orange Queen)

Dispensary: Sunset Super Shop (West Hollywood)

Grade: B/B+

Type: Mostly Sativa

Lineage: Jack Herer crossed with Orange Queen.

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th, $110/ quarter, $210 half ounce

Looks: Light and airy nugs, sugar coated in trichomes. Bright green buds with many bright orange hairs and heavy trichome coverage. Brittle to the touch, but sticky when broken apart.

Smell: Sweet, sour, citrusy and grassy. Smelled shockingly similar to a tangerine.

Taste: Sweet and sour tangerine flavor. Smooth vapor with heavy lung expansion.

Buzz: Racy, heady stone. Functional, spacey, creative and slightly energetic. Best for the afternoon.

Summary: A strain with a smell and taste that was shockingly close to tangerines. The buzz wasn’t particularly special. It wasn’t uplifting and was too racy for my preference.
